9. Can I vote if I don't have a Social Security Number or a state ID card?
The Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) form asks voters to provide their Social Security number (usually just the last 4 digits) and/or a state identification card number. If you have either or both, you should provide that information.
However, if you don’t have either number, check the box that indicates: “I don’t have the above identification.”
For most states, this is sufficient. If your voting state requires more information, they will contact you after you send in your form. It is better, however, for you to contact them to make sure they've accepted your form. You can look up the contact information at: "Your State Rules" (scroll down to “Find Your Election Office”).
If your state does require more, please get in touch with us if you need help with documentation to support your right to vote.
